Job Overview

Are you a highly motivated, people-person who loves home design and organization? Cloister’s Flooring America is seeking a part-time flooring Customer Service Associate to join our local retail showroom.

In this role, you will be the face of our store—welcoming clients, listening to their project goals, and guiding them through their home improvement journey from material selection to post-installation support.

Schedule & Compensation

  • Hourly Wage: $18.00 – $25.00/hour (based on experience)
  • Hours: Part-time, 10–15 hours per week.
  • Availability Needed: Must be available for weekend shifts and some evening hours. (Our showroom is open until 7:00 PM on weeknights and Saturdays from 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM).

Key Responsibilities

  • Customer Engagement: Greet showroom visitors warmly, learn about their project needs, and recommend the best flooring, cabinet, or countertop solutions.
  • Sales & Quoting: Assist clients in calculating dimensions and square footage, preparing accurate project quotes, and processing deposits.
  • Order Management: Process customer orders, track inventory availability, and coordinate delivery or warehouse pickup dates.
  • Showroom Operations: Manage point-of-sale (POS) transactions, handle returns/exchanges, and keep samples organized.
  • Issue Resolution: Act as a reliable liaison between customers, our internal sales team, and installation crews to keep projects moving smoothly.

What We're Looking For

  • 1–2 years of experience in retail, inside sales, or customer service (experience in construction or home improvement is a major plus!).
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong basic math skills (ability to accurately calculate dimensions and material square footage).
  • Comfort utilizing digital tools, POS systems, or inventory software (experience with platforms like RFMS is a plus).
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, patience, and strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods and safely move flooring samples around the showroom (typically up to 25–50 lbs).
